It is April. As the earth warms and we celebrate rebirth through the traditions of Easter and Passover we are reminded of the challenges that come when someone is grieving. It’s hard to celebrate rebirth while we are experiencing the symptoms of grief.
When someone is grieving, holidays, anniversaries and special occasions can be particularly difficult. We feel vulnerable, missing our loved ones who are no longer with us. Holidays that are filled with traditions invite memory and story. If your instinct is to share these stories it is important to find someone who can listen to your sacred story and be present with you as you share it. Sharing stories is essential on the healing pathway. May you be comforted by your memories and may the promise in Spring and the increasing daylight hours bring a sense of hope and renewal this month.
