Postponing Grief

Do you hear yourself say, “I’ll get to my grief when all this is over”?

Thinking we need to be there for our family, or that we need to stay strong because they would want us to be strong sets up a recipe for more pain.

It is so very hard when we are in the middle of grief to see the danger of putting our grief on hold. By not converting our grief to mourning as it comes up, we risk burying and carrying it…and that is so much more painful. We find ourselves swamped by feeling at inopportune times. Our symptoms of grief harden instead of soften with time.

If you are having a hard time with this and don’t know what to do, private message me or put a note in the comments section of this video. Let’s set up a time to talk.
